The people who pick the movies at the Lighthouse cinema are honest enough to say that there’s basically no reason at all for this season, no anniversary, no new releases, no nothing! I guess the only reason is some damn good movies, and sure that’s a good a reason as any. When you look back on his career, it’s pretty staggering, and he made the transition from pretty boy to serious actor better than any I can think of.

It’s a good mix of his early career, and a few of his gems from later life, and the series starts on August 21st and runs through to late Sept. The summer is really gone. Sigh…
