No word on the line up as yet, but basically I couldn’t resist putting that logo up on the site, I tip my hat to all involved in it!
Down With Jazz festival returns to Meeting House Square this September, for two nights and one full Day in early September. Full details of bands will be release in late July.
“Down With Jazz returns to Temple Bar on the 6th, 7th and 8th September for 3 days of sinfully good jazz, depraved improvisation and debauched dancing. The festival back-story of the anti-jazz campaigns of 1930’s Ireland grabbed imaginations for the inaugural festival in August 2012, with crowds of over 1,500 descending on Meeting House Square.
This September we continue to celebrate this “music borrowed from the savages of Africa by the anti-God society” (Father Peter Conefrey, Leitrim, 1934) with round two of the Down With Jazz festival.
Come celebrate the new alternative from Friday 6th to Sunday 8th September and enjoy the ‘filthy rhythms’ of jazz, blues, and funk under the canopies in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar.”
