Borris House is an hour and a half outside Dublin, and this weekend its ‘Festival of Writing and Ideas‘ takes place. Not bothering to define itself as a writers/ artists/ music festival and purely concerning themselves with getting as many of the best and brightest artist of our time in the one place at the one time, the line up is nothing short of stunning!

The international names that immediately jump out at me are Martin Amis, PJ Harvey (I’ve really no idea how they got PJ, but I tip the hat to whoever lined her up!), Ben Okri, Michael Craig Martin, Isabel Fonseca and journalist Ben Anderson. There’s also a hugely impressive list of Irish names including Directors Neil Jordan and Lenny Abrahamson, artist Dorothy Cross, writers Anne Enright and Paul Murray among many others.
