Always nice to spend an evening with an Oscar winner, and that’s what you’ll be doing if you’re in the National Concert Hall on the 19th of this month! Dario Marianelli is a film composer, and has worked on such movies such as Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina and Atonement. He’s over in Dublin as part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (JDIFF), and will be in the NCH on Tuesday the 19th, with tickets from €15-35.
“The RTÉ Concert Orchestra present a programme specially selected for the National Concert Hall by the composer including music from Ailsa and I Went Down as well as debut Irish performances of his Brothers Grimm, Pride and Prejudice, Anna Karenina and Atonement Suites”
From the NCH web site.
What will Dario be doing after the show? Why, nipping off to the Oscars (24-02-13) in Hollywood where Anna Karenina is nominated for best soundtrack.
There’s also a lovely post by Paddy Breathnach on the JDIFF site, that’s worth reading on how he met Dario and how they went full circle!
