Days like these – Van Morrison – An Explanation!

I’ve just listened to a football commentator say about Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen who inadvertently set up United’s first goal, that ‘His Mama told him, there’d be days like these”.

Ok, I’m not asking much, but could people listen to the lyrics of this song, and tell me what is negative about it? He’s talking about good days people, GOOD DAYS!!!

“When its not always raining there’ll be days like this

When there’s no one complaining there’ll be days like this

When everything falls into place like the flick of a switch

Well my mama told me there’ll be days like this”

Second verse, does that get all negative? Nope, his Mama was telling him, there would be GOOD DAYS!!!

“When you don’t need to worry there’ll be days like this

When no ones in a hurry there’ll be days like this

When you don’t get betrayed by that old judas kiss

Oh my mama told me there’ll be days like this”
