A couple of good movies this week, and then lots of average ones. Margaret seems an odd one, with various legal disputes about what cut we would end up seeing delaying it’s release by several years! We’re seeing a 2 and a half hour version, so I’m not sure who won, but I’d suspect that the studio wanted it shorter. The story is about a witness to an automobile accident, and her choices after it. It looks suspect, but the critics claim otherwise.
Rampart is the other fun looking release of the week, with Woody Harrelson playing a bad cop. I have to say I’ve always had a soft spot for Woody, but that’s possibly as I was a Cheers fan, back when I was small. He’s had an interesting career, and always tries to do quirky movies, which you have to respect him for.
Other releases that sound all a bit average are ‘Red Dog’, ‘Black Gold’ (sadly not a Beverly hillbillies remake), and ‘The Best Exotic Marigold’ (at least I don’t have to see the trailers anymore!).
There’s also this in the film festival tonight, which looks top class! In the two for one deal today also, if you’re quick.
