If it sounds like Grizzly Bear or Department of Eagles, it’s because Daniel is part of both bands! He has a lovely voice and this song builds from a very simple piano song into a lovely layers gem, with horns, drums and backing vocals.
Daniel is releasing a new EP next March, under his own name for once! It’s something to look forward to.

tis nice alright… apparently he recorded these songs because of time spent on the road with Grizzly Bear and not really knowing what to do next musically…
Yeah, it must be odd for musicians spending so long in hotel rooms and airports. Surprising there’s not more songs written about them!
His solo stuff sounds almost identical to Grizzly, Department of Eagles and now this could easily be on any of the recent Grizzly albums. This is a good thing in my book!
