Recently I have discovered the band Lilys who were formed in the late 80s in Washington DC. Apparently the band revolves around one core member, Kurt Heasley. Anyway, they have plenty of records out but I have been listening lately to A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns which is mini album originally released in 1994. It’s great stuff, packed with beautiful indie-pop hooks. I’m reminded of the Pastels and perhaps a little Pavement. I’m just surprised I missed this band altogether at the time!
