I was recently asked to write a blog for bands that are ‘cool’, but you possibly haven’t heard of yet. This band were front and foremost in my mind for whatever reason. Their single ‘Pumped up kicks’ was one of the songs of the summer, and played on almost every radio station, without much notice taken of the band themselves.

Foster the People are a 3 piece from LA, who only formed in 2009 and released their first album this year. Their odd name supposedly came as a misunderstanding, as they were meant to be called ‘Foster and the people’, with their lead singer being Mark Foster, it does make more sense.

They played the Electric Picnic over the weekend, and return to play the Academy on the 28th of November, with tickets at 19 euro. I must admit I haven’t listened to the full album, but do quite enjoy this track, even if it is a bit ubiquitous.
