Ok, I’m a little late to this one, as people have been blogging about it for days, but it’s worth a mention. Free is free after all. All you have to do is ‘like’ Spin’s Facebook page and they’ll send you a link to download it. If you’ve ever tried to ‘unlike’ something, you’ll realise that liking something on facebook is not a casual event, but more like branding for life! How never, I guess I should talk about the album and not bitch about facebook.
I heard the meat puppets version of ‘Smell’s like…’ on Phantom last night, and it’s pretty shocking. Hard to believe you’d put out a version of a classic like that, but I guess they left their quality control behind someplace.
Nevermind is coming up to it’s 20 years old, which is hard to believe. Where do the year’s go? I haven’t listened to it in an age, but it still sounds fresh any time I hear a song on the radio.

ok, all these are on youtube and i just scanned three of them and they were all brutal. i thought the Vaselines one might be good but it’s not (best of the three i listened to though). Surfer Blood is just a straight up copy ala decent cover band and oh my god the Midnight Juggernauts take on Come As You Are – well… have a listen yourselves!!
That is just shocking! it’s like the smurfs sing Nirvana.
They shouldn’t be allowed to release things that are that bad. It’s not fair to the original singers.
I heard the Vaselilne’s one was alright, no?
