African Artist Romuald Hazoume is from the republic of Benin, on the west coast of Africa (a new one on me, I’m afraid). He has worked with a wide range of media throughout his career, such as discarded petrol canisters (above), to video and full installations. I love his masks, which you can see more of here.
He has a solo show in IMMA, and there’s a talk with the artist on Tuesday the 8th of Feb at 5, you can book tickets here. I’d say he’s an interesting man, from what I’ve seen. Why are those talks always during work hours?
