Hotpress are reporting that Phosperescent are making their debut headline performance in Ireland in the workman’s club on June 2nd. It must be my imagination that I saw them play in Whelans in June ’09, and I’ve a funny feeling that it wasn’t even the first time they played there! They’re a good solid rock band live, and backed up the National a few months ago, and had the crowd well won over, by the end of their set. They’re tipped to be the bright young things of 2011, and as with anyone who gets that title, they seem to be around for years!

I remember Gorillaz’s debut gig in Ireland was the O2 in Dublin, according to the press release, when they had played the Olympia a few years earlier. I guess it sounds good!
