Cinema Reviews

Just checking the new releases this week, and nothing much of any interest on at the moment! A lot of three star movies released, and that just means ‘wait till dvd release’ in my mind. Not sure how others think on the matter, but I hate seeing average movies in the cinema, they’re much better suited to a wednesday night at home.

The Kids are alright – A comedy with Anette Benning and Julianne Moore seems the best of them. It gets three starts in the times and four in the guardian. Still, it looks heart warming, and I just can’t do heart warming at the moment, or possibly ever.

Burke and Hare – Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis in this movie about grave robbing, which I had some hope for. It gets two stars in the Guardian (who generally love anything even vaguely english) and three in the times. I’ll leave this one as well then!

The Hunter is the only other new release of note, a brooding drama from Iran. Who knows. Three stars in the times and the guardian.

I know I should hate Hollywood remakes of good movies, but ‘Let me in’, the remake of ‘Let the right one in’ does look like it might be worth seeing. There’s a preview tomorrow in Cineworld, which I might head along to. Any review I can find of it seems positive, but I guess I’ll wait and see.
