Album of the Week – 21/02/25
If you’re looking for new sounds, you’ve come to the right place! Some great new albums this week with the likes of Abdomen (Yes, I Don’t Know) and Califone (The Villagers Companion) particularly catching the eye (or ear?) There’s also a gem from Tim Hecker with his new album Shards which we reviewed here.
Our album of the week comes from The Murder Capital and their new album Blindness. Will this be the album that launches them into the stratosphere? Quite possibly. You can see them live in the Iveagh Gardens in July.
Album of the Week — The Murder Capital – Blindness
The Murder Capital /// LIVE /// 19 July – Iveagh Gardens, Dublin
“There’s what’s in front of us, in our immediate field of vision. There are the things we can touch, the love we can feel. Then there’s everything else. Blindness is the warped belief. The behind us. The secluded. Love at a distance. Faith in denial. Distorted patriotism. The fading face of moments in the rear view. Blindness brings it all into focus.” – James McGovern
