Album of the Week – 23/08/24

The also-rans include Bryce Dessner (of The National) with his new album Solos. There are also new releases from Benny Trokan (of Spoon – Do You Still Think of Me) and Confidence Man (fabric Presents Confidence Man).

The winner… is extremely obvious! We’ve been talking about this one for a while. There’s still a chance to see them in the 3Arena in early December.

Album of the Week — Fontaines D.C. – Romance

The album is undoubtedly a departure for the band, there will be too many slow songs for some fans, but it’s as accessible an album as they’ve ever released. The band are light years away from the Fontaines D.C. of ‘Dublin in the rain is mine’ from their debut. Without compromising, it looks like this album will have the band on the cusp of even greater success.
