Beyond the Pale 2023 – Preview
With Beyond the Pale now only a few days away, we thought it was high time to have a look at the Festival’s Day-by-Day Breakdown. You can get the full line up here.
Friday Night: the Festival kicks off with Brick Nasty and Dope Lemon on the main stage. The first unmissable act is probably Stephen Lee Bruner, better known as the funky sounds of Thundercat (20:00 – 21:15).
The final act on the main stage is Jon Hopkins who starts at almost midnight (23:35 – 00:50). The other highly recommended act on the night is For Those I Love who starts on the Selective Memory Stage at 22:00 – 23:00.
Saturday – You could just sit down and relax at the main stage for the duration, with some great sounds all day. Get there early and don’t miss David Kitt (12:35 – 13:35) and Grandbrothers (14:00 – 15:00). Kudos to Candi Staton (17:00 – 17:50) for still playing festivals at 83! We are simply in awe.
It would be impossible not to recommend the last few acts on the main stage including Leftfield (23:30 – 00:45) and Hot Chip (21.20 – 22:50), but there’s a tough choice with Oneohtrix Point Never on the Selective Memory stage for an hour starting at 23:45.
Sunday is normally a chilled-out affair, but with Grace Jones headlining the main stage, you can forget about that nonsense! Another amazing woman still going strong at 75.
There is also some great Irish Music on the main stage with the Pillow Queens (18:00 – 19:00) and Jape (16:30 – 17:30). we’d also recommend one of our favourites in Just Mustard (19:45 – 20.45) for those that want something a bit louder!
