In Part Two of our interview with Gavin Quinn of Pan Pan, he talks briefly about “One Time Season” which takes place this week in the Project Arts Centre. Random Scream are an American/ Belgian company visiting Project and performing four different shows!

“One Time Season” is a new venture by Cian O’Brien (Artistic Director of Project) and Pan Pan to present international theatre in Project outside the intense window of the Tiger Dublin Fringe and the Dublin Theatre Festival. It is something Project has always aspired to do so that Dublin has a more staple diet of international work. It is valuable for all audiences but particularly for those people who wish to experience and enjoy theatre from further afield. The event is an experiment hence the title “One Time Season”.

Davis Freeman and his sister (choreographer) Meg Stuart, founded Random Scream about sixteen years ago. Davis has performed in Ireland before. He was on the stage of the Abbey Theatre as part of the Dublin Dance Festival. Freeman is someone I have admired for many years for making very present contemporary work. He works very quickly and then he puts the work out there. That is part of his belief… don’t ponder, don’t procrastinate. So that is why he is able to deliver four very diverse shows as part of this season.

The final show is called “Karaoke(Art)”, he invited twenty five internationally acclaimed artists to create their own video for a popular karaoke song. So you are presented with an art by stealth project where the audience sing along to activate the artwork.
