Everyone is on holidays, right? Hello? Is there anyone there?
It’s a poor week for music but there are a couple of decent festivals with the Beatyard in Dun Laoghaire and also Indiependence 2016 in Cork. There’s also the best of Music on Film with Films of Note Festival all week at the Sugar Club.
Comedy is the new Rock and Roll anyway, so you can get your fix at the Iveagh Gardens for the Vodafone Comedy Festival from the 28th to the 31st. There’s also the Big Bang Festival of Rhythm (29th to 31st July) which finishes with Hotter Than July in Smithfield on Sunday the 31st.
There’s a few new pieces of theatre, with Mercury in the New Theatre, The Sadness of the Little Sparrow in Smock Alley and The Mysterious History Of Things in the Viking. Finding Dory is the big event in Cinema, and expect it to become a classic! The new Jason Bourne is also released, so will be interesting to see how that one does.
