Guaranteed! is a fascinating new work by Colin Murphy that deals with the recent financial disasters of this fair nation. It covers the events that led up to the bank guarantee, which took place on the night of the 29th of September, 2008. It was the night when it became apparent that the many years of madness in the Irish banking sector had come to a head, and if they didn’t act now, Anglo Irish Bank would fall and possibly take the rest of the Irish banks with it. Sigh.
