Stygian Stride: Stygian Stride (Thrill Jockey: March 2013)

Stygian Stride is Jimy SeiTang, a New York based musician and Stygian Stride is his debut solo release. To capture the sound he wanted SeiTang sought out vintage, analog equipment. The results are quite startling. Deep, hypnotic, repetitive synth swirls with subtle motifs occurring just out of your main focus. You need to spend a little time with this album to get a good feel for it. There’s plenty of depth here and SeiTang is definitely someone to check out and keep an eye on in the future. Standout tracks include Taiga with it’s synthy upbeat looping melodies and Hindsight with its Gas-like slow-burning submerged beat and dense production.

Listen to the track Drift below.

  1. Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment
(it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything. Do you have any helpful hints for novice blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.
