No seems to be the movie of the week, as the rest just didn’t put the effort in, or live up to expectation (I’m looking at you Hitchcock!). It’s a movie about an advertising campaign to overthrow Pinochet in Chile! Looks oddly light-hearted considering the subject matter, but all the critics like it, so who am I to argue. This could also be the movie that makes Gael Garcia Bernal a household name, or maybe it’ll be his next one, but it’s gonna happen!
Otherwise, this week there’s a bunch of movies that… might be worth skipping! Hitchcock is taking a pounding for Anthony Hopkins in a fat suit and his bad impersonation of Hitchcock in general. Pity as I was kind of looking forward to it. I Give It a Year looks truly dreadful, and is from the makers of other truly dreadful movies. Antiviral is the new movie from the spawn of Cronenberg (yes, his son Brandon). It was out in the horror festival in the IFI last year. It’s getting average to poor reviews in most spots. A Liar’s Autobiography: The Untrue Story Of Monty Python’s Graham Chapman is an animated version of Graham Chapmans Autobiography that is only for serious Python fans. Wreck It Ralph is a sweet looking kids movie, getting average reviews.
Warm Bodies is a story of a zombie that finds love and other junk. It’s a zombie movie, so I’ll end up seeing, as I see most of them! It gets average reviews as expected…
