THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY

The Hobbit: An Unexpect Journey. Why is Peter Jackson doing this? I loved his early stuff, and the Lord of the Rings were grand and all that, but talk about being stuck in a rut? It’s a short book turned into a triolgy and the first part of it is two hours fifty minutes, so can we expect nine hours? The critics are certainly bored with Gandalf and the Hobbits, and it gets average to poor reviews in most places. Kids, go read the books!

Otherwise, there’s a re-release of an absolute gem in ‘Whatever happened to Baby Jane?‘, Joan Crawford and Bette Davis hated each other off stage and you can feel it throughout this story of an power and control. ‘Babette’s Feast‘ also gets re-released this week, so strangely as many old ones as new ones this week, maybe everyone was just afraid of the Hobbit, who knows. There’s also a few smaller new ones getting the dreaded three star reviews such as ‘You will be my sons’ and ‘Girlfriend‘.
