An Opera worth seeing? Neil Hannon – Sevastopol

I get very annoyed at people that say sweeping statements like ‘I don’t like Movies’. It frustrates the hell out of me that people can pick an art form and just say they don’t like it. It’s the same with comics, and you get a lot of snobby people coming out with the ‘I don’t like comics’ line, to which my answer is ‘What if it was written by Shakespeare and drawn by Da Vinci?’.

But… that’s obvious comics and movies and not Opera, which is just pants, and anyone that thinks differently is stupid and smells bad.

If Neill Hannon was to make one, would it be worth seeing? Could this change my opinion on Opera? At least it’s only half an hour. It’s based on the life of Tolstoy, and I’m sure there will be a few laughs of Neil is involved. It’s on in the Lindbury Studio Theatre in London next week, and you can get tickets here.
