Ok, so Caribou are taking the reins for Sunday, and I’d imagine that they’ll be the best band of the day themselves, as they are playing with an 11 piece band! It’s a far cry from the first time I saw them at ATP, playing Sunday night on stage two.
Pharoah Sanders may be the first person to play ATP that has a Grammy! We all know what Bon Iver thinks of them, but I guess some people appreciate them. He’s a jazz sax player, and will be a nice change of mood. It does seem pretty varied musically this weekend.
The Ex with Getatchew Mekurya are another big fun band, and i’m starting to see where Caribou got their influences from, and they’re not run of the mill. Anothe sax legend, and should be fun, if they’re anything like the link below.
But it’s not all about jazz, there’s also some other people I’ve been looking forward to seeing, and Factory Floor are certainly one of those.
Have to say I’m looking forward to it, very varied sounds and Les Savy expected to lead the madness. Fingers crossed it all goes according to plan.
