A superb 8tracks playlist devoted to the 90s. I’ve been listening to it while working and it’s great fun. All the usual suspects are here from Pavement, Mercury Rev, Sonic Youth, Wilco, Uncle Tupelo, Jeff Buckley, Throwing Muses, Kristin Hersh and Ride among many many others. Listening to Depeche Mode’s Enjoy the Silence as I type… now it’s Fade Into You by Mazzy Star. Music in the 90s was just better… wasn’t it? 😉

Been listening to that all lunch time, and it’s great! A fab mix and a lot of memories.
The version of Jane Says is the wrong one though, much prefer the other one.
🙂 yeah it’s absolutely brilliant alright. i have to admit to having a slight 8tracks addiction!!
Just heard Feed the Tree by Belly! Arghhhh sooo good. Morgan, i’m pretty sure you had a big soft spot for Tanya Donnelly 🙂
Tanya and myself were just good friends, nothing more! You know how the press run with these stories.
Belly were a great fun band, pity it never happened for them. Kind of surprising actually…
bbc four repeated that “no nirvana” late show special on Sunday night. ‘member the late show?. five nights of cultural review… those were the days… and that no nirvana special was a kind of vindication… i’m a nerdy teanager but look my musical tastes are valid – the bbc says so. (all good except for the pearly jammers as my dad called them). i have it recorded now if you want a copy.
Hi Testy McTest (that can only be one man really!).
It is hard to believe we had a arts programme on five days a week. You don’t even really get one show per week, only late review as part of newsnight. I guess they hide programmes like that on BBC4 these days, where no one can find them.
I’ve fond memories of that special alright, was it Mudhoney, Pearl Jam, Screaming Trees, Dino Jr, Rage Against the Machine? Any English bands? Possibly not. It was a pretty fab line up…
