Movie of the week is easy this time out, as everyone seems to love the one above. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy is an adaptation of the 1974 cold war novel written by John Le Carre, and seems to be getting glowing recommendations in all directions. It is directed by Thomas Alfredson, who was previously know for ‘Let the right one in’, the little vampire story from a few years ago, that again was top notch. The cast is pretty stellar, with Gary Oldman, John Hurt, Ciaran Hinds and Colin Firth, among others, and tells the story of an attempt to uncover a Russian mole in the British secret service.
Other movies this week include ’30 minutes or less’ by the team that brought you Zombieland, which splits the critics, and ‘The Change up’ one of those stories where people switch bodies and general nonsense ensues (I really don’t know who goes to these movies, but Hollywood seems to put out one a year).
