The Kill List is an English movie directed by Ben Wheatley (who previously worked on BBC comedy ‘The Wrong Door’). It’s a story of middle class England and Hit men, so what can possibly go wrong? It has the critics purring with delight, so is probably worth a visit.
Attenberg is a Greek new wave movie, that ‘suggests the troubling mind-state of a country in social and economic meltdown’. Hmm, sounds a little too close to home for me, but the critics love it again. I guess this is a good week at the movies, even if the names aren’t exactly familiar.
Horror movie of the week is ‘Fright Night’ with Colin Farrell, which gets average reviews in most places. To be honest, I was expecting worse, so maybe it’s better than you’d expect. It’s written by Marti Noxon, of Buffy fame, so worth watching at some stage, I would expect.
If you’re in the mood for something slow and pretty, there’s a re release of Terrence Malick’s ‘Days of Heaven’. I’m not sure I could face into it after the boredom of ‘Tree of Life’, but it’s well worth seeing from what I remember.
