One of the regular posters who shall remain nameless (Morgan) has opened a veritable can of worms in his previous post saying that James Blake was “trendy and over rated”. I smell a poll coming! For what it’s worth I think he has moments of excellence but yeah, maybe he’s a little “trendy”! No More Workhorse 
He’s grand, but nothing special. can’t say i think he’s particularly inventive or different. I get annoyed when people make a fuss about him. I remember when he played Whelans recently, and everyone seemed to wet themselves over him. There was some bits on youtube and it looked deadly boring. Maybe the video didn’t capture the magic though…
I’ve always liked him, but this has been a disappointing season for him, so I don’t think you could say he’s overrated. Possibly underrated a lot of the time.
Injuries have plagued him a bit, but getting to the final’s of Queens in 2009, only to lose to Andy Murray was a good indication of how he can be if he get’s his form up.
He’s certainly had a bad run in the Grand Slams. At 31 you have to feel the best years are behind him, but I always though he was a good player. He should never have lost the dreads!

The headband has certainly cost him credibility, and he’s never dealt with the fundamental weakness of his backhand. You’re completely right about the dreads.
Yeah, forgot about the headband, while a timeless classic on one hand, it maybe belongs to another era.

So he sucks at Tennis and trendy overrated soul music also? He really should give up, and just stay home…
