Update: Sadly, Kristin is too ill to perform! Her voice is gone, supposedly, which I guess is important for a singer. We’ll have to wait for Throwing Muses…
Update Update: New date for gig is the 11th of Nov, all tickets still valid. (That’s the day after the Throwing Muses gig, hmm)
Kristin is in town again, and will (finger’s crossed) be playing the Workmans club later on this evening. She had to cancel in Cork last night, due to problems with her voice, but tonight seems to be going ahead, none the less.
She’s a wonderfully warm person, and I’ve always enjoyed her stories about her kids and other adventures as much as her music when she plays live. You get much more of the stories when she plays solo, so I’m sure there will be some of that later on.
There’s a lovely interview with her on stat.ie here. She also talks of her recent books Rat Girl and Paradoxical Undressing, which tell of her adventures in her teenage years.
There’s still tickets available, so head along if you can. 20 euro gets you in! Here she is being interviewed by the Guardian, in Edinburgh a few days ago.
