This is a plea for help really – I’ve been tasked with putting together a playlist for my daughter’s second birthday this weekend, and I wondered if anyone had any suggestions? I’m thinking of something smattered with Kimya Dawson (Alphabutt is great little album for these things) and Flaming Lips. This is Cal’s favourite music ever… http://www.dofunstuff.net/ ,particularly likes the potty song…
My two and a half year old nephew likes lazytown (big beats) and the wiggles (fruit salad people) mostly.
There’s also this… http://www.amazon.co.uk/Songs-Young-Heart-Limited-Book/dp/B000G03RZY
and this… http://www.amazon.co.uk/Colours-Are-Brighter-Songs-Children/dp/B000HOMLNS/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1314049877&sr=1-1
if you want to ram your own taste down the kids throat, which i presume you do!
Also, check out the music for babies list!
Very cool – thanks Becca, good suggestion. I already have ‘Songs for the Young at Heart’, and whilst ‘Colours are Brighter’ looks good, it’s forty quid on Amazon at the moment, which is just daft nonsense. I can’t find my copy of the wonderful School House Rock Rocks – http://www.amazon.co.uk/Schoolhouse-Rock-Rocks/dp/B000005J80 – which is very cool.
It’s ALL about imposing my taste, no point in pretending otherwise!
