Generally when reviewers get their hands on a super hero flick, their response is that it’s poop, and if you think differently, then you smell and are stupid! Not so this time, with Captain America getting real reviews, just like the reviewers actually stayed all the way until the end of the movie and didn’t have a doze and then nip off for coffee a bit early. It gets three or four stars off most of the reviews, with most saying it could be the best of the genre, or at least since Iron Man. Cool beans! I might actually go. Nah, I couldn’t, could I?
Possibly a lot more likely to get my 10 euro is Arrietty, which is the new movie by Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away and all that jazz). Do you even need to know what it’s about? Are you not sold on that alone? I am. This one is based on the borrowers, and looks as odd and interesting as all their movies do.
There’s also a new movie called “Poetry – review”, which is Korean and is called a “meditation on the the nature of life, death and memories” according to the Guardian. Everyone seems to love it, so it’s possibly better than the two above, but I’m sure the others are more fun!
