Is this becoming a ‘thing’, this is the second compilation album of a ‘classic’ album in as many weeks. As discussed in the comments section on the release of Newermind, a compilation of people covering Nevermind, it was actually pretty shocking. Still, free is free, so worth checking out, if only to complain about how bad it is.
This has a lot more potential, while the source material is probably worse, the bands playing them are considerably better. It’s a cover album of the Stroke’s 2001 album ‘Is this it’, and it’s available for free on Stereogum here.
