Ok, I am very excited. Stars of the Lid are one of my fave bands. The group consists of two members, Brian McBride and Adam Wiltzie. Well it turns out that Adam Wiltzie has collaborated with the LA composer Dustin O’Halloran and made a record under the name, A Winged Victory For The Sullen. Wiltzie and O’Halloran met at a Sparklehorse gig (Wiltzie had been on tour with Mark Linkhous) and there is a track on the record created in memory of Mark’s untimely passing. The album is due to be released on Kranky and Erased Tapes on September 13th and there is a taster below. As always with anything related to SOTL, it is absolutely gorgeous. I will report back when the album is released.
