Over the last week, The Other Shoe by Fucked Up has been putting a big grin on my face (usually whilst cycling in a slightly manic fashion through the streets of Dublin). The weird thing is, every time I listen to The Other Shoe I think of Web in Front by Archers of Loaf. Not in the sense that Fucked Up’s song is in some way similar or a copy but rather it has that magic indie/rock special sauce that I don’t hear that often anymore. I feel like with The Other Shoe, Fucked Up are (in my head anyway) carrying the torch for bands like Archers of Loaf through to the 2010s. This makes me happy. Either way, it’s a great track and I’m clearly rambling so both it and Web in Front are below for your listening pleasure.
