Good old Daytrotter, they’re always at it. Free music, and unusual versions of album tracks, the odd cover version etc. It’s hard not to like what they do, and with the type of artist they’ve attracted over the years, they’re really mounting up an amazing collection of sessions.
This time it’s J Mascis who has shared his noises with the world. The session includes two tracks from his new album, an old Dinosaur number and a cover of Edie Brickell & New Bohemians’ “Circle”, which he played at Whelans quite recently. The story behind the Edie cover version is that Dinosaur’s drummer did all the driving on tour and therefore got to pick the music! J didn’t like it at first, but it grew on him in time. See what you think!
