It may be obvious that I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while, but ‘Win Win’ opens today, which is the new movie by Thomas McCarthy. Thomas’ acting career is as ropey as hell, with his last performance in ‘Little Fockers’, but he has directed three movies, and the first two were gems in my opinion, with the Visitor being possibly my favorite movie of 2007.  ‘Win Win’ is his new movie, about wrestling and disgruntled middle aged men, which I’ve talked about here previously.

‘Red Hill’ seems to be the other release of note this week. ‘If Jimmy Conway rides into this town, he’ll be bringing hell with him’ says the trailer, which gives you a good idea of what your’e getting in this western set in modern day Australia.

Otherwise, it’s mostly trash, with the new Pirates of the Caribbean meant to be complete trash, and to be avoided at all costs! Good to see nothing has changed there then.
