Another statue for the Villagers, as this time he’s won an Ivor Novello for ‘Best Song Musically And Lyrically’. This statue is of ‘Euterpe’, who for those few that don’t know already (shame on you), is the Muse of Music.

As I’ve said before, I think the Villagers were very hard done by for the Choice Music prize, where I thought they were clear winners. Ok, that may have had something to do with my twenty euro bet with Paddy Power, but I only put the money on as I thought they were such clear winners.

It is great to see Conor receive international acclaim for his work, and hopefully this will be another step in his attempts for world domination. The next time you can see the Villagers live in Ireland is at Marlay Park, where they play alongside Beach house on July 27th.
