Seems like an Irish movie is the pick of the week, this week. Hmm. I’m never sure when the Irish Times reviews an Irish movie, and glows about it. They’re sure to know the director or be friendly with one of the cast. Too many times, I’ve been burned in similar fashion and end up sitting through another poorly acted, boring insight into small town Ireland. Still, this is about people waiting out the collapse of society in a small cabin, so at least that much is interesting!
Other movies which failed to impress most of the critics are ‘Hana’ – Saorise Ronan as Hit Woman/ Girl (that wasn’t the brightest career move to be honest), ‘Water and Elephants’ is meant to be pretty bland and stars the guy from Twilight
A re release this week worth a mention, is ‘The Deep End’ in the IFI, which might be worth a visit.
