Kristin Hersh is playing in Waterstone’s on Friday night! How annoying is it that I don’t have tickets for it. It is part of a book tour for Paradoxical Undressing, where she will be ‘Reading, Singing and Playing’. It’s long sold out in Dublin, but you never know in the other spots. Maybe I can crash the door. Hmm.
The book itself receives a pretty good review in the Guardian here, and tells the story of her 18th year, based on her diary from the period.
Her site is also worth a visit for a wealth of free junk, such as live shows from Throwing Muses (from 91 to 09), her solo work and lots of 50 foot wave stuff here. There’s a contribution thing for paypal, and it’s nice to think the money is going direct to her.
